Carnival UK has joined a cross-sector collaboration of international organisations, regional businesses, and academic institutions to become a supporting and founding partner of a major decarbonisation initiative in the Solent and Southern England.
The vision for The Solent Cluster is for the region to become a leading centre for low carbon investment, making a significant contribution towards the net zero target.
On 1 November, Sture Myrmell, President, Carnival UK, signed the Charter on behalf of Carnival UK demonstrating our ongoing commitment to work collaboratively to find solutions to decarbonise our sector and the wider region.
Carnival UK’s head office is based in Southampton and the city is home-port for our P&O Cruises and Cunard ships.
“Carnival UK is proud to be a founding partner of The Solent Cluster. Our aspiration to achieve net carbon-neutral ship operations by 2050 supports the Cluster’s vision and we are committed to investing in low carbon solutions, jobs, and the local community. We look forward to working as an active partner to ensure the UK remains a competitive player in this space”
Sture Myrmell, President, Carnival UK
