On a call to St. Kitts earlier in the year, colleagues on board P&O Cruises Britannia partnered with the St. Kitts Tourism Authority to conduct a beach clean on Irish Town beach. The team of 20 crew members collected glass, plastic, household waste, clothing, and even a tyre!
Alessio Vanini, Food and Beverage Manager, said:
“We are totally committed to sustainability. This initiative came from the ship’s company, so I think this is something we could implement in the future and on a regular basis. I think it’s a very good initiative in terms of being sustainable, and all the plastic we collected proved that it’s really needed for the future and to save our oceans.”
